Blood Red Angel veröffentlichen 1999 das erste 5-Track Demo und bezeichnen ihren Stil anfangs noch eher scherzhaft als „Rhine-Area Thrash“. Doch schnell wird klar, dass diese Umschreibung den guten alten Nagel senkrecht auf den Kopf trifft, stammen die Haupteinflüsse doch deutlich von den Bay Area Größen der 80er/90er, sowie von diversen Acts aus dem Rhein-Ruhr Gebiet. Und nach wie vor ist diese Stilbeschreibung aktuell, BRA verbinden weiterhin traditionelle Thrash Wurzeln mit verschiedensten Einflüssen und verpacken das Resultat in ein zeitgemäßes Soundgewand.
Knapp vier Jahre nach dem letzten Longplayer melden sich BRA mit dem neuen Album “Abyssland“ zurück. Die für die Band ungewöhnlich lange Produktionsphase hat sich auf das Endprodukt absolut positiv ausgewirkt. Soundtechnisch konnte man einen Riesenschritt nach vorne machen und auch die Bandbreite der Songs gibt wesentlich mehr her als die Vorgänger. Auch wenn nach wie vor die schnellen straighten Kracher wie „Ceremony of the condemned“ oder „Demon driven“ überwiegen, bringen Stampfer wie „Enforced“, die treibende Midtempo-Hymne „ITN“ und nicht zuletzt die klassische Metal Halbballade „Dead End Corridors“ neu Aspekte in den Sound der Angels. Produziert wurde das Album wie schon die Vorgänger von Klaus Spangenberg im Bandeigenen Beat Point Studio. Für das Mastering zeigt sich diesmal Sound-Ikone Eroc (Ex-Grobschnitt) verantwortlich.

1999 - Gründung der Band durch Klaus Spangenberg, Bernd Groß, Jens Pesch und Robert Balner. Einstieg von Philip Schmidt (Drums), erste Live Shows, 5-track Demo CD, Deal mit Gutter Records (Massacre-Sublabel), Neuzugang am Schlagzeug: Adriano Ricci.
2000 - VÖ des Debüt Albums "The language of hate", Mini-Tour mit Blackend und Endart, Songwriting und weitere Einzelgigs.
2001 - Produktion und release des Nachfolgers "The state of insanity", erste Konzerte außerhalb Deutschlands. Robert Balner und Adriano Ricci steigen aus. Neuer Gitarrist wird Crew-Member Jens Sonntag.
2002 - Die Band absolviert ca. 30 Gigs in Deutschland, Belgien und den Niederlanden. Am Drum-Kit helfen Martin Below (Guerrilla, Aardvarks, Jack Slater) und Andre Schwalba aus. Suche nach neuem Trommler.
2003 - Neuer fester Drummer wird Andreas Danner. Erste Auftritte im neuen Line-Up. Songwriting & Deal mit Supreme Chaos Records aus Stuttgart.
2004 - Album Nummer drei "Crime Entertainment" wird im Mai veröffentlicht und es folgen einige Einzelshows.
2005 - Noch im Januar schmeißt die Band eine neue Promo unters Volk und stellt die Songs auch zum freien Download ins Web.
2006 - Songwriting und ein paar Livegigs
2007 - Recording und Produktion von "Abyssland", Vorbereitung der Veröffentlichung.

Blood Red Angel released their first demo (tape/CD) in 1999 and called their style "Rhein Area Thrash", because the main influences came from the Bay Area heroes of the 80's and 90's as also from some bands of the Rhein-Ruhr area, where the band is based. 2008 this discription is still actual, BRA combine traditional thrash-roots with different spices and put the result into an up to date sound.
Nearly four years after their last album BRA are back on the set with their up-coming release “Abyssland”. Sure, this time it took BRA unusually long to record the material. But it was worth it: the album sounds bigger, heavier and more mature than ever before. The scope of the songs covers all different types of finest thrash metal. Again there is plenty of straight-in-the-face tracks like “Ceremony of the condemned” or “Demon driven” for which BRA has already become famous. But with heavy bone-crushers like “Enforced”, driving mid-tempo hymns like “ITN” and even the intense melodic power ballad “Dead end corridors” BRA proof once again that there is much more to their sound then just classic thrash metal. Like its predecessors “Abyssland” has been recorded and produced by Klaus “Mr. Crime” Spangenberg at BRAs Beat Point Studio. The Mastering was performed by Sound-Genius EROC (ex-Grobschnitt, Woodhouse Studio) to round-up the unique sound of BRA.
